So his name was Earl Part 2
As I stared at the board in class trying
to stay focused, I couldn’t help but let my mind wander a bit. I immediately
was taken to a place by the beach on a perfect day. I was in a blue and white
dress and the sun was reflecting on my skin. I had the biggest grin on my face,
and of course, everything was in slow motion. I leaned against a rail facing the
ocean and reached out and a big brown hand reached back. As
he appeared, he grabbed me by the waist and kissed me on the cheek.
I smiled shyly and said,
“Earl!”
“What?” He said playfully in my ear and pulled me closer to him.
“You look so beautiful”.
I chuckled a little and he looked me
in the eye and placed his full and chocolatey lips on mine. He pressed deeper
and leaned my head back. I let out a moan and he slipped his tongue in my mouth.
Our breaths and movements seemed to synchronize immediately. His arms wrapped around
me and he paused for a second. He pulled back to look at me with a serious look
on his face. He said,
“You’re mine”.
I snapped back into reality and sat up
straight. I really needed to focus because my Chemistry midterm was coming up
and I didn’t want to fail again. I sighed loudly.
“Okay- that’s all for class today. Go over the material and practice exams. The exam is set for next Monday. Have a great day and good luck.”
I literally paid NO attention to the entire class. I got up and headed out for the door. I took out my phone and looked to see if Earl had texted me since this morning.
“Hey Girrrl.” Someone said behind me.
I knew who it was right away. My friend Misha.
“Hey, Misha!” I said excitedly. I leaned
in for a hug and she stopped me with her hand up in my face.
“Um, what did I do?” I asked puzzled and
slightly irritated.
“You never texted me back girl! We
were supposed to go out, remember?” She said as she tilted her neck to the side.
“Ohh! Girl, I’m sorry!” I said loudly
as I forced a hug on her. She reluctantly hugged me back and said,
“Mmmmmhmmm. That’s why I’m getting a
new friend, 'cause you fired!”
“And who is gonna put up with you like
me? Nobody!” We laughed and started walking away from the chemistry building.
“So for real, what happened yesterday?”
She asked.
“Oh. I just lost track of time. I actually
was talking to this guy when-"
“Huh?!” She screamed.
“A guy?” She asked me with her mouth
wide open.
“Yes. A guy.” I replied.
“A guy- guy?”
“Oh my God girl, Yes! A guy- guy!”
“One with a penis?”
“Girl!” I screamed embarrassed. I smacked her on the arm and started walking
faster.
“I’m just playin'! Ashley, hold up!”
she laughed as she picked up her feet to catch up.
“Whatever. I need to head to my next
class before I am late.” I started walking faster, and she said,
“Okay, well- I will text you later,
okay?”
I waved behind me and kept moving. I guess
everyone knows that I am as single as it gets. I know she was just playing, but
it still hurt. Like, I know I don’t talk to guys like that, but is it that hard
to believe that a guy would want to talk to me?
I started heading to my Geography class
when I got a text.
It was from him.
